Welcome to IAH-CNC 2015 Waterloo
The Canadian National Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists invites you to our 2015 Canadian Conference - IAH-CNC 2015 Waterloo - October 27 to 30, 2015.
Our conference theme is simply "Canadian Hydrogeology" and will offer a focused conference with a high quality technical program, opportunities to learn from leaders in hydrogeology, and time for professional discussion and connecting with colleagues and friends.
Our scientific topics span the range of current hydrogeological issues in Canada- from the latest research to advances in professional practice. Hydrogeology is a maturing science in Canada, and we want to provide a great opportunity to learn from each other and connect Canadian hydrogeologists to each other and to the wider IAH community. Please click here to see the list of conference Special Presenters. The call for abstracts is now open – please click here for complete details and to make a submission.
Waterloo Region is renowned for scientific excellence including over 100 years of groundwater exploration and management for a "land locked" community, and 50 years of Earth Sciences research – first at the University of Waterloo and now extending to many universities and technical institutes in Southern Ontario. Also, in recent years Waterloo has become the home of some internationally recognized and extraordinary initiatives including the Perimeter Institute (PI) and the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), which have both enjoyed world renown and received recognition for their unique contributions in their respective fields. Waterloo Region is also the place for autumn delights, including the fall harvest at our famous Farmers' Markets and country pubs, and of course the largest Oktoberfest celebration in North America. Come See What's New in Waterloo!
The conference will run from Tuesday, October 27 to Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Waterloo Inn Conference Hotel in Waterloo, Ontario.
- Tuesday is set aside for short courses and technical tours
- Wednesday through Friday will include the plenary and technical program
- Friday afternoon will be linked to the Annual University of Waterloo Farvolden Lecture and celebration- open to all!
- And to round out the technical component of the conference, IAH-CNC 2015 Waterloo will provide an Opening Exhibitor Reception, a Conference Banquet, a Local Colour Social Night, a Young Professionals Lounge*, and other opportunities for conversation, laughter and learning.
